Mary McNeel is all about Charlotte Gainsbourg‘s new Beck collabo IRM. And here’s why:
IRM is full of great drum beats and instrumental music. Charlotte has a way of bringing you into her music as she goes back and forth from rhythm and great beats to soft, reflective music to a more funky sound. Just let yourself fall into the different styles Charlotte has introduced in this new release.
“IRM” and “Heaven Can Wait” are great examples of the music Charlotte has put together. Here you hear the great rhythms of the drums and her instrumental ways, which cause you to want to dance. On “In the End” and “Vanities,” she brings out the soft elegance of her music. You actually come to the romantic setting she is placing in these songs, especially with the violins. Keep listening as Charlotte again changes her style to a more funky sound, as you will find in “Trick Pony” with its deep drums and big-band sound.
