Record Exchange barista mista Elliot Soriano steps up in defense of Chris Brown‘s new album Graffiti. Let the man testify:
This album has garnered a lot of attention recently, mostly for the wrong reasons. Don’t let the controversy surrounding the Chris Brown and Rhianna scandal deter you from giving this album a chance. It’s like the world has forgotten that Chris Brown is actually a really brilliant performer.
The first single from the album, “I Can Transform Ya” with Lil Wayne, aside from being catchy and making transformer references, reminds me of “Wall to Wall” from his last album. That alone is almost enough reason to remind me exactly why I still love Chris Brown’s music. The one track I can’t get out of my head is “Girlfriend.” The handclaps and chanting in this track alone are more than enough to make even the most uptight listener relax and appreciate the song.
Keep in mind that most big box chain stores are blackballing this album and refusing to carry it, and the Record Exchange is carrying it. Keep an optimistic mind towards this album and appreciate the music for what it is.
